Our Flagship Excursion

Nine-day Itinerary
The Great Migration Safari
Arusha → Tarangire → Lake Natron → Serengeti → Ndutu → Oldupai Gorge → Ngorongoro → Lake Manyara.
This excursion follows the Great Migration counter-clockwise from Arusha. We explore the Eastern African Rift System (EARS) and the cultures and wildlife that thrive within it. We venture north near the Kenyan border and learn about the extreme biology of Lake Natron. Then, we turn south and drive into the heart of the Serengeti. During February and March is it possible to see many thousands of wildebeest calving--the largest synchronized birthing event in the world.

The Birder's Safari
There are around 1140 bird species in Tanzania, with more than 540 observed in the Serengeti alone. We regularly see more than 200 species on a single safari. We explore some of the lesser-known areas where the habitat is especially suitable to a diversity of birds. We can help you find rare and uncommon species as well. Not only will you discover new species, you will also learn about their natural history and behavior. Weaver birds lekking, flamingo chicks walking kilometers to find water (and perishing along the way), hammerkop nests with hidden entrances--there is much to learn and see.
