Tourism That Gives

๐Ÿค

Ethical Employment

Science Safaris pays all Tanzanian staff โ€” guides, cooks, and support personnel โ€” above market rate, with full transparency. Mike Masawe and Arnold Munishi are partners in every trip, not contractors.  Further, we take care of all gratuities at external lodges to ensure their staff are compensated fairly for their help.

๐ŸŒ

Community Investment

We partner directly with Maasai communities at Lake Natron and Mto wa Mbu, paying a local guide for the Engare Sero footprint site and Ngare Sero waterfall hike โ€” keeping tourism revenue in local communities.

Low-Impact Operations

We minimize plastic use, use established campsites, adhere to TANAPA wildlife-viewing protocols, and design our safaris to minimize pressure on sensitive ecosystems like Ngorongoro Crater and the Ndutu calving grounds.

Science Education Pipeline

By making rigorous field ecology accessible to non-specialists, we cultivate the next generation of conservation advocates โ€” people who have seen, understood, and fallen in love with these ecosystems firsthand.
